About the Position

We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable General Education Teacher to provide instruction to middle and/or high school students. The ideal candidate will create an engaging, structured classroom environment while delivering standards-aligned instruction and supporting students with diverse academic needs.

Job Duties

• Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction for middle and/or high school students
• Create lesson plans that promote critical thinking, collaboration, and academic growth
• Differentiate instruction to accommodate varying learning abilities and academic levels
• Establish and maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
• Assess student understanding through assignments, projects, quizzes, and examinations
• Analyze student performance data and adjust instruction accordingly
• Provide additional academic support and intervention when appropriate
• Maintain accurate grades, attendance, and instructional documentation
• Communicate regularly with students, families, colleagues, and administrators
• Collaborate with fellow educators and support staff to address student needs
• Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school activities
• Maintain compliance with school, district, state, and federal education requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Valid Alabama teaching certificate with the appropriate subject-area certification/endorsement for the assigned position
• Appropriate certification for the applicable middle and/or secondary grade levels
• Completion of an approved educator preparation program or applicable alternative certification pathway
• Successful completion of applicable Alabama educator certification assessments
• Strong classroom management and instructional skills
• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to differentiate instruction and support students with diverse academic needs
• Successful completion of required background screening and district onboarding requirements
