PPG's Aerospace Business is now hiring an Aerospace Product Design Engineer to join the team onsite in Huntsville, AL! As the Design Engineer
, you will be accountable for the engineering design support of new and existing Aerospace Transparencies products worldwide. You will provide product testing and performance evaluations to assure that products and transparency programs meet performance expectations defined by the customer, regulatory agencies and Aerospace Products, Transparencies.

• Provide technical support to manufacturing facilities in Huntsville, Sylmar and Ampa Space, using structural design, analysis, electrical design, product testing, and documentation.
• Prepare technical communications within PPG and to customers, regulatory agencies, including engineering test reports, presentations and white papers.
• Interact with customers, sales, product support engineering, program management, manufacturing, QA, GTC and possibly regulatory agencies.
• Drive continuous improvement for the department’s environmental, health and safety, quality, and value performance to maintain an injury‑free workplace and 100% compliance, while meeting plant profitability objectives.
• Participate in safety, quality and value improvement teams and contribute to ongoing activities such as manufacturing planning, budget preparation and departmental IT planning.
• Actively participate in the PPG New Product Introduction (NPI) process during Technical and Management Gate Reviews (including New Program Selection Meetings).
• Remain technically aware of industry trends, regulations, customer requirements and PPG Aerospace Transparency’s manufacturing processes to offer suggestions and recommendations.

• 5+ years’ experience in the Aerospace industry.
• Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering field.
• Proficient in both 3D and 2D CAD; preference for Solid Works and AutoCAD.
• Experience with Aerospace structural design and analysis, including finite element method.
• Experience providing technical support within a manufacturing facility.
• Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously.
• Product data management (PDM) experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
