Job Description
Aviation & Missile Solutions, LLC. (AMS) is seeking a talented Electrical or Computer Engineer to join our diverse team, in Huntsville, AL., to create unique solutions for complex problems. AMS provides responsive, cost-effective engineering and scientific solutions ranging from air and missile defense technologies, command and control, radar systems, seekers, modeling & simulation, and prototype hardware development and testing.
Position Description
The Engineer or Scientist in this role will support and lead Radar Technology programs including modeling, simulation, and analysis; hardware and software prototyping; and development, integration and testing of surveillance and fire control radars, RF/MMW seekers, EW systems, and RF datalinks.
Required Experience
- Candidate must have demonstrated relevant experience skills in electromagnetics, digital signal processing, RF or MMW system development, firmware development, controls, EW, software development, or modeling and simulation.
- Candidate must have demonstrated these skills in the following areas: modeling, radar/weapons systems analysis, algorithm development, RF hardware, HWIL support, and/or field-testing support.
- Applicable areas of modeling experience include ground and airborne radar functions, communication systems, RF environments including clutter and atmospherics, EA/EP, integrated weapon systems, and complete kill chain, etc. Radar/weapons systems analysis includes probability of detection and false alarm, waveform analysis, probability of intercept, defended area, etc. Algorithm development includes detection processes, waveform selection, signal processing, clutter mitigation, electronic protection, beamforming, target identification and classification, etc.
RF hardware includes exciters, antennas, multi-channel receivers, high-bandwidth receivers, state of the art processors, transmitters, and RF lab equipment, development and integration, and real-time software development, and test. - Candidate must have good people skills and the desire to work with a highly technical team of engineers and scientists.
- Candidate must be able to comfortably interact with and present to customers, coworkers and management on a regular basis.
Preferred Skills/Abilities
- Resident of the Huntsville, AL area or be willing to relocate.
- Software development skills in object-oriented programming principles preferred but not required.
- Experience in MATLAB is a plus.
Required Education And Experience
- Bachelor's degree or greater in Electrical Engineering , Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited university with a 3.5 GPA or higher.
Travel Requirements
- Must be able to travel up to 10% of the year.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 30-40 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organizations facilities.
Security Requirements
- Citizenship:
Candidate must a US only citizen. - Clearance level: possess (and be able to maintain) a Final SECRET/SSBI Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Final SECRET Clearance.
- Active TS/SCI clearance preferred.
