Position Overview

You will serve as a key technical contributor supporting liquid paint manufacturing processes, with a focus on robotic, solvent-based painting operations. In this role, you support production performance by developing, improving, and sustaining safe, efficient, and repeatable processes while partnering closely with operations, maintenance, and design engineering. Your work spans process documentation, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and new product introductions from launch through stable production.

This role is a compelling opportunity because it offers hands-on ownership of critical paint processes with direct impact on quality, cost, and production readiness at scale.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across paint processes to improve cycle times, reduce scrap and downtime, and optimize equipment, tooling, and energy usage.
  • Provide hands-on process and tooling troubleshooting to resolve production issues and improve process stability and throughput.
  • Develop, update, and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and standard work to support consistent execution.
  • Support BOM and routing development and maintenance to ensure accurate manufacturing execution and cost visibility.
  • Analyze process failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Design and evaluate part fixtures and tooling to maximize density, efficiency, and quality outcomes.
  • Train, develop, and technically guide robot programmers and process technicians on setup, processing, and problem-solving techniques.
  • Recommend, justify, and support implementation of capital equipment, including establishing spare parts lists and preventive maintenance frequencies.
  • Partner with design engineering on new project start-ups, supporting transition from development into stable production.
  • Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment while performing responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Desired Competencies
  • Technical / Functional Expertise:
You apply the required technical or professional knowledge to perform your role effectively and stay current within your area of expertise.
  • Problem Solving:
You identify issues, assess root causes, and implement practical solutions that balance speed, quality, and risk.
  • Collaboration:

You work effectively with others across functions and levels, contributing to shared goals while respecting different perspectives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required;
    Chemical Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant liquid paint manufacturing experience.
  • Understanding of robotic, solvent-based painting processes.
  • Experience with Fanuc robotics systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process mapping skills.
  • Proficiency with standard computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects, organize work effectively, and collaborate with operations and maintenance teams while maintaining high quality and attention to detail.
