What You’ll Be DoingJob Scope: Generally be responsible for performing all aspects for complete designs of small and large electrical and instrumentation engineering assignments using theoretical knowledge and practical design methods under general supervision.
- Be the site’s electrical authority—plan and oversee maintenance, upgrades, and electrical outages (switch gear, breakers, substations).
- Drive reliability engineering initiatives—analyze failures, implement corrective actions, and optimize system performance.
- Lead capital projects—from concept to completion—balancing budgets, compliance, and innovation.
- Supervise and mentor contractors and technicians, ensuring safety‑first practices (Arc Flash, Lockout/Tagout).
- Champion SCADA & smart technology—supporting and upgrading our Energy Data Information System (EDIS) for better monitoring and efficiency.
- Train plant teams on new electrical technologies and safety standards.
- Strategic plans for system expansions, digital upgrades, and reliability improvements.
Education: Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university is required.
Registration: Professional Engineering registration is highly preferred.
Experience: This position requires 3+ years of relevant industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering.
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities- Proven expertise with power distribution systems (480V–12.47kV), preventive maintenance, and power quality assessments.
- Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards (Arc Flash, Lockout/Tagout).
- Experience managing budgets, contractors, and engineering teams.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems, power meters, and relay programming.
- Leadership skills with the ability to influence, train, and inspire others.
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
