- Description We are seeking a Lead Material Program Manager (MPM) to join our Global Supply Chain team in Huntsville, AL, supporting the Common Hypersonic Glide Body (CHGB) mission. In this critical role, the MPM will serve as a Material Control Account Management (CAM) partner, sharing responsibility for material cost control, baseline integrity, earned value performance, and material execution against program milestones.

The role requires strong leadership across engineering, finance, planning, and supply chain to ensure material readiness, cost discipline, and schedule performance for mission-critical hardware. This position works in close coordination with the program’s Primary Material CAM, providing additional depth and execution support while maintaining clear alignment on material cost, variance analysis, and recovery actions. The role is ideal for a candidate who is comfortable operating in a shared CAM environment, balancing material execution with cost and performance accountability.

The MPM reports to the Material Operations & Strategies (MO&S) Associate Director and serves as a supporting Material CAM on the program, partnering closely with the Primary Material CAM, Program Management, Finance, Engineering, and Supply Chain. The MPM works with the Material Planner organization to review and validate purchase requisitions for material scope, quantity, cost, and funding alignment, ensuring procurement execution supports the approved material baseline.

While planners and buyers execute transactions, the MPM maintains shared accountability for material cost, schedule, and risk visibility Applicant needs to be energetic, resilient, and creative in supporting corporate reporting requirements throughout program manufacturing execution obligations. Must be able to promote a team atmosphere and help cultivate improved communication lines with agile problem-solving solutions. Primary Responsibilities (including but are not limited to):
* Support the Primary Material CAM in maintaining material cost baseline, EAC/ETC updates, variance analysis, and earned value performance

* Analyze material cost and schedule variances and drive corrective actions in coordination with the Primary CAM, Program Management, and Finance

* Ensure engineering changes and material execution remain aligned with approved material budgets

* Provide clear material cost, performance, and risk inputs for Program Management Reviews (PMRs)
Aligning with program teams, leading cross-functional supply chain efforts, and driving communication across stakeholders.

* Ensure material readiness to support manufacturing execution and fluctuating build requirements

* Drive supplier performance recovery for late, high-risk, or constrained materials in alignment with CAM priorities

* Lead material risk identification and mitigation efforts for long-lead and capacity-constrained items

* Coordinate supplier execution with planning, logistics, quality, and manufacturing teams

* Act as a key liaison between Global Supply Chain and Program Management for material execution topics

* Participate in Engineering Review Boards to assess material cost and schedule impacts of technical changes

* Partner closely with the Primary CAM to maintain consistent messaging and escalation posture
* Leverage ERP and reporting tools to track material performance, risks, and trends

* Support corporate and program-level reporting tied to material cost, schedule, and execution performance Basic Qualifications
* BA degree and 8+years in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field. MBA or MS and 6+ years of related experience

* 3+ years of proven experience leading supply chain efforts in a defense or high-complexity manufacturing environment

* Experience working in a shared or supporting Control Account Management (CAM) role, including cost tracking, variance analysis, and coordination with a primary CAM preferred

* Experience implementing cost reduction and supplier innovation initiatives within a defense supply chain environment.

* Strong knowledge of Supply Chain and related systems along with material procurement

* Requires strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities to understand and facilitate complex supply chain decision-making

* Strong project management skills

* Proven ability to be a self-starter and quick learner, capable of supporting efforts to achieve goals

* Excellent written and oral communications skills at all levels both internally and externally with customers and suppliers

* Ability to work in a fast-paced situation with continuous innovation and flexibility in an on-site manufacturing environment

* Must be able to collaborate and effectively influence across multiple functions to achieve supply chain performance requirements

* High level of proficiency in MS Office products (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project)
