Position Summary
The Estimator / Scheduler is responsible for estimate take-offs and pricing buildups for construction, infrastructure, and environmental related proposals and modifications in the federal government contracting arena. An additional duty is development and maintenance of project schedules and cost estimates throughout the design and construction phases. This role reviews schedules for potential delays, analyzes critical paths, and supports recovery planning when needed.

- Develop and maintain project schedules, including sequencing and critical path analysis.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, time, materials, and equipment.
- Monitor and adjust schedules, budgets, and scope as projects progress.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, and subcontractors on cost and schedule adjustments.
- Produce cost and expenditure reports, forecasts, and technical documentation.
- Support project controls, including project setup, cost control, and reporting.
- Conduct schedule recovery analysis and prepare mitigation plans when needed.
- Utilize Primavera P6, MS Project, RS Means, and Excel to prepare schedules, take-offs, and estimates.
- Deliver clear reports and presentations to management and clients.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost estimation tools.
- Ability to analyze complex technical data and develop practical solutions.
- Proficiency in scheduling and cost control software.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with clients, staff, vendors, and government agencies.
Primarily office-based with regular field visits, which may involve exposure to traffic, construction, rugged terrain, and environmental hazards. Travel may require the use of company or personal vehicles.
Minimum Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Four years of scheduling/estimating experience
- Valid Driver’s License
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification
- Proficiency with Primavera P6, RS Means, MS Office Project, and MS Excel
- Pre-bid site surveys
- Estimating and bid development
- Horizontal and vertical construction projects
- Renovation and repair (architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, pavement, ADA facilities)
- Six or more years of experience in utilities, facilities, environmental, and construction (horizontal and vertical projects)
- Three years of experience in federal government estimating/scheduling
- Advanced skills in technical writing and reporting
