Description
Leidos’ Defense Mechanical Design & Analysis Department is seeking a Mobile Radar Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama. The role involves designing the next generation of sensors to protect America and its allies. You will perform mechanical design of the Affordable Long‑range Persistent Surveillance‑Mobile product using Solid Works CAD and Windchill PLM software, turning ideas into designs, and collaborating with production, integration, and testing teams.
This is not an average engineering position; you will work with the most talented engineers in the region on a fast‑paced program with unique technical challenges.

THE CHALLENGE (primary Responsibilities)- Structural design via Solid Works CAD software, drawing generation in accordance with ASME Y14.100 & Y14.5, and producing technical data packages in accordance with MIL‑STD‑31000
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university
- 8+ years of applicable experience or 6+ years with an MS degree
- Strong Solid Works user
- Active secret security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain secret security clearance
- Windchill PLM experience
- Design and/or integration experience in the following areas:
- Power generation
- Tactical shelter design
- Telecommunication towers
- Mobile tactical equipment
- Tactical trailers
