As we enter a new era of Strategic Weapon Systems, Lockheed Martin is a pioneer, partner, innovator and builder. Our amazing men and women are on a mission to make a difference in the world and every single day we use our unique skills, talents and experiences to design and build solutions to some of the world’s hardest engineering problems. Do you want to be part of a culture that inspires employees to envision the impossible, perform with excellence and build incredible products?
We provide the resources, inspiration and focus—if you have the passion and courage to dream big, then we want to build a better tomorrow with you.
Bring your experience and passion for engineering to Lockheed Martin, and build the systems which support our nation's defense systems.
What does this role look like?We are seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer to support advanced aerospace and defense programs. In this role, you will perform structural analysis of mechanical and structural components across the product lifecycle—from concept development through detailed design, test, qualification, and production support. The selected candidate will evaluate metallic and composite structures subjected to static, dynamic, thermal, and vibration environments to ensure compliance with performance, safety, and mission requirements.
You will collaborate closely with design engineering, manufacturing, materials, and test organizations to deliver technically sound and mission‑ready solutions.
- Perform structural analysis of aerospace and defense hardware using classical hand calculations and finite element methods (FEM).
- Evaluate strength, stiffness, stability, fatigue, fracture, and damage tolerance of mechanical and structural systems.
- Analyze structures subjected to static, dynamic, shock, vibration, and thermal loading environments.
- Develop and correlate finite element models to support design validation and test activities.
- Support structural test planning, data review, and model correlation.
- Prepare and present technical reports, analysis documentation, and design recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve structural design issues and optimize hardware performance.
- Support peer reviews, design reviews, and customer technical interchange meetings.
- Candidates may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Applying to this Expression of Interest opportunity introduces you to Lockheed Martin's job opportunities and promotes you to managers who are interested in hiring for multiple roles.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related STEM discipline.
- Experience performing structural analysis using finite element analysis (FEA) tools.
- Experience conducting hand calculations for structural sizing and validation.
- Knowledge of stress analysis fundamentals, including statics, mechanics of materials, and structural dynamics.
- Experience analyzing metallic and/or composite structures.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Active Secret security clearance required at time of hire.
- Experience with industry‑standard FEA tools such as NX/Nastran, MSC Nastran, Abaqus, ANSYS, or similar.
- Experience performing nonlinear, buckling, fatigue, fracture, or damage tolerance analysis.
- Experience supporting missile, launch vehicle, spacecraft, or defense hardware programs.
- Familiarity with shock and vibration analysis (random vibration, modal analysis, response spectra).
- Experience performing thermal‑structural coupled analysis.
- Experience correlating analysis models to structural test data.
- Working knowledge of materials…
