We are seeking a highly motivated Multi-Body Dynamics Engineer to join our team. This role supports the analysis, modeling, and simulation of complex mechanical systems for advanced aerospace and defense applications.
The selected candidate will apply rigid and flexible body dynamics principles to evaluate system performance, predict loads and environments, and inform design decisions across the product lifecycle. This position requires close collaboration with design, structural analysis, systems engineering, and test teams to ensure mechanical systems meet performance, reliability, and mission requirements.
The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capability, hands‑on modeling experience, and the ability to translate dynamic behavior into actionable engineering insight.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute multi-body dynamic models of complex mechanical systems using industry-standard tools.
- Perform rigid body and flexible body dynamic simulations to assess system kinematics, loads, stability, and response.
- Support design trades, mechanism development, and structural load predictions.
- Analyze transient events including deployment, separation, shock, vibration, and other dynamic environments.
- Collaborate with structural analysts to integrate dynamic loads into FEA models.
- Support test planning, instrumentation definition, and correlation of analytical models to test data.
- Document analysis methods, assumptions, and results in technical reports and briefings.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations to leadership and customers.
- Candidates may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Applying to this Expression of Interest opportunity introduces you to Lockheed Martin's job opportunities and promotes you to managers who are interested in hiring for multiple roles.
