Test Engineering Specialist - Weekend shift

Leidos’ Defense Systems Electronics Manufacturing is seeking a Test Engineering Specialist to support our Electronics Manufacturing Facility.

• Testing a variety of electronic hardware including electrical chassis, cables, and electromechanical assemblies.
• Setting up standard or automated test equipment to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate the performance and reliability of prototypes or production assemblies.
• Analyzing test results, repairing or adjusting assemblies according to analysis, and recommending corrections and improvements to test procedures.
• Working on a variety of products for both military and commercial customers.

• BS degree with 2‑4 years of relevant experience or Masters degree with less than 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with mechanical and electronic assembly and testing (ICT, functional).
• Experience assembling electromechanical assemblies, some of which are small.
• Ability to work with design engineers, test engineers, and manufacturing engineers to understand assembly and testing requirements.
• Computer skills related to assembly tasks, including proficiency with corporate production control processes and creating documents and spreadsheets for manufacturing information such as work instructions, parts lists, and inventory reports.
• Basic experience reading mechanical assembly drawings, electrical schematics, and other manufacturing documentation.
• Technical knowledge in troubleshooting simple to medium complexity electronic and electromechanical assemblies, using test equipment such as multimeters, power supplies, signal generators, frequency counters, and oscilloscopes.
• Solid understanding of RF test equipment such as Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Data Error Analyzers, and RF generators.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

• Experience working with chemicals used in product assembly, such as potting compounds and adhesives.
• Experience working under a microscope.
• Experience in a high‑paced manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with electronic component handling requirements and ESD procedures.
• Current or prior certification to IPC/WHMA‑A‑620, IPC‑A‑610, J‑STD‑001, and IPC 7711/7721.
• U.S. citizenship with a final Secret clearance or eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
