Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) is hiring an Entry-Level or Associate Product Review Engineer (
Liaison Engineer
) to join the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) team located in Huntsville, AL
. This engineer will perform/support troubleshooting, Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) technical analysis and provide solutions to non-conforming products. This position will work directly with cross functional and production engineering teams to meet production program objectives.

Boeing Huntsville has multi-year contracts to develop, manufacture, and test the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) missile seeker and future improvements. These contracts are driving significant, long-term growth for the PAC-3 engineering team on the Huntsville campus.

Shift
  • B Shift: M-Th; 4x10 - Starts at 4pm

  • C Shift: F/Sa/Su; 3x12 - Starts at 6am

  • Shifts may be eligible for a shift differential and subject to availability

Position Responsibilities
  • Applies basic knowledge of Boeing design and/or engineering principles to develop interim or final engineering solutions to product/process issues throughout the production lifecycle

  • Analyzes, conducts root cause analysis and develops dispositions for design non-conformances

  • Applies engineering principles to research technical, operational and quality issues to develop interim and final engineering solutions

  • Provides written dispositions for routine design non-conformances

  • Participates in Material Review Boards

  • Represents the engineering community in the production environment, providing lineside support

  • Recommends simple non-destructive test procedures, tools, standards

  • Ensures supplier and build partner compliance with Boeing standards

  • Develops and implements product/process improvements

  • This position may require shift flexibility, based on business needs

  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed, based on business needs

  • Non-standard work week options may also be utilized to meet business objectives

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • Knowledge of repair concepts and methodologies including standard repair processes, component repair concepts, structural and composite repair procedures, and basic electrical repair procedures, and basic system repair processes

  • Experience with Material Review Board / Liaison Engineering (MRB / LE) Authority (including participating in Material Review Board activities related to aircraft/component/system/circuit card repairs)

  • Must be willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience)
  • Experience gathering data and performing a Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)

  • Aerospace experience, fabrications, manufacturing, and/or additive manufacturing experience

  • Production engineering experience with relevant technological knowledge

  • Experience in solving simple to complex problems

  • Electrical/mechanical system knowledge, troubleshooting, fault isolation, and repair methodology

  • Knowledge of circuit card manufacturing, including Selective Solder and SMT

  • Functional system level and component level testing

Typical Education/Experience
  • Level 1: related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience

  • Level 2: 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
