Role Summary

The client is seeking a motivated Systems Engineering Specialist (L3 or L4) to support the development of advanced solid rocket propulsion systems. This role involves planning and executing Systems Engineering tasks on complex projects or major phases of significant assignments.

The selected candidate will apply advanced Systems Engineering principles, including Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies, to manage requirements, verification, and risk throughout the product development lifecycle. The role requires independent problem-solving and regular coordination with cross-functional teams, engineering leadership, and occasional customer representatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct Systems Engineering activities for rocket propulsion system development
• Apply MBSE methodologies to requirements management, verification, and risk management
• Manage system requirements across the full product development lifecycle
• Perform system integration activities and ensure technical alignment
• Identify, assess, and manage risks and opportunities
• Coordinate technical communication with internal teams and stakeholders
• Support verification planning and execution activities

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or related discipline (Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering) with minimum 4 years of relevant experience,
• OR
• Master’s degree with minimum 2 years of relevant experience
• Strong knowledge of solid rocket motor fundamentals
• Hands-on experience in Systems Engineering disciplines including:
• Requirements management
• System integration
• Experience applying MBSE techniques for rocket propulsion system development
• Proficiency with IBM Rational DOORS for requirements management
• Experience in risk and opportunity management
• Ability to independently solve complex engineering problems

Desired Qualifications

• Experience supporting contract proposals, basis of estimates, and MBSE artifacts
• Experience developing MBSE architectures for DoD and commercial customers
• Familiarity with DoD ground-launched and air-launched systems
• Experience developing and applying requirements verification architectures
• Hands-on experience with Cameo modeling environment
• Knowledge of MBSE languages and frameworks, including UML, SysML, and UPDM
