The Small Airborne Effectors Division within the Leidos Kinetic Effects Business Area is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and producing small to medium airborne missiles, unmanned vehicles, and payload effectors for a wide variety of defense customers. Position Overview

The position requires the applicant to apply analytical and semi-empirical aerodynamic prediction tools to the design and analysis of flight vehicles.

The employee will also support aerodynamic design trade studies, performance assessments, testing, and development of high-fidelity aerodynamic characterizations of flight vehicles.

Basic Qualifications (required)

The position requires a minimum of a BS degree in Aerospace / Aeronautical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 3.25 and 2-4 years of industry experience in a related field.

Demonstrated capabilities in programming languages Python or Matlab.

Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.

The ability to collaborate constructively within a multi-disciplinary team.

Be willing to try and learn new skills, and to refine existing skills.

Must be a US citizen and possess the ability to obtain and maintain a DoW security clearance.

The candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area, or willing to relocate, to work on-site at the Huntsville, AL campus.

Preferred Qualifications

It is preferred that the candidate possesses a MS degree in Aerospace / Aeronautical Engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.25 and 0-3 years of related experience.

Experience with industry-standard aerodynamic prediction tools and experience in wind tunnel testing.

Prior experience with computational fluid dynamics.
