Position Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for developing, validating, and optimizing injection molding processes for powersports components, ensuring they meet durability, safety, quality, cost, and delivery requirements. You will support new product introductions and ongoing production by coordinating mold trials, troubleshooting molding issues, and establishing repeatable, high‑quality manufacturing processes. Working closely with operations, tooling, design engineering, and suppliers, you will improve manufacturability, part performance, and process capability across rugged, mixed‑volume production environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and optimize manufacturing processes to meet safety, quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Develop, document, and maintain manufacturing processes, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct direct labor studies using accepted engineering practices to establish labor standards, workstation layouts, and setup methods.
  • Analyze current manufacturing methods and identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, material flow, and cost efficiency.
  • Define tooling and fixturing requirements and collaborate with tooling designers to develop or procure new solutions.
  • Identify areas of unnecessary cost and research methods for cost reduction and work cell optimization.
  • Assist in the development, evaluation, and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Review product and process designs and provide recommendations to improve manufacturability, quality, and cost.
  • Develop capital equipment justifications and provide recommendations for capital expenditures.
  • Support budgeting activities and evaluate make‑versus‑buy decisions for new and existing products.
Desired Competencies
  • Technical / Functional Expertise:
Apply required technical or professional knowledge to perform your role effectively and stay current within your area of expertise.
  • Problem Solving:
Identify issues, assess root causes, and implement practical solutions that balance speed, quality, and risk.
  • Collaboration:

Work effectively with others across functions and levels, contributing to shared goals while respecting different perspectives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing engineering experience in a production or industrial environment.
  • Experience leading and managing engineering or technical manufacturing employees, including setting expectations, coaching performance, and supporting development.
  • Experience conducting labor studies and establishing manufacturing standards and workstation layouts.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, fixturing, and equipment support.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with PC‑based tools used for documentation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Master Molder certification or similar advanced injection molding training is a plus.
  • Certification in injection molding (e.g., Master Molder) preferred but not required.
  • This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
