Job OverviewSenior FPGA Engineer in the Effector Subsystems Products (ESP) department. Responsible for architecture, design, documentation, and production release of FPGA embedded processing for weapon system products. Work across all major vendors and device families (AMD, Altera, Microchip).
Key Responsibilities- Design and deliver production quality FPGA releases from proof of concept to production.
- Collaborate with systems, hardware, software engineers, and program management to ensure product success.
- Design and code in VHDL with focus on reliability, maintainability, reviewability, and reusability.
- Verify designs using directed tests and constrained random methodologies; track functional and code coverage.
- Create complete documentation: requirements, verification plan, user guides, configuration management.
- Provide design support from requirements definition through integration and test.
- Participate in technical reviews and drive independent project execution on schedule and budget.
- Bachelor’s Degree in STEM or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in at least 5 of the following categories:
- Digital Design and HDL coding for configurable logic devices.
- Delivering FPGA solutions to system‑level applications.
- Experience with Altera, Lattice, Microchip, or AMD FPGA devices and tools.
- Integration and debug of electronics using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, etc.
- FPGA timing constraints and timing closure.
- Digital simulation using Questa, Riviera Pro, or similar tools.
- Python or C programming.
- U.S. citizenship required; active DoD Secret clearance required.
- Digital design knowledge and principles for radar processing techniques.
- Image processing techniques for visual and infrared sensors.
- Experience with gigabit serial interfaces and multi‑gigabit transceivers.
- Embedded processor and System on a Chip development for FPGA devices.
- Experience with Microblaze, Nios, or ARM processors.
- Experience designing with a Linux‑based development environment.
- Knowledge of git and Git Hub.
- Encryption/decryption standards (AES, RSA, ECC).
- Industry‑standard interfaces and protocols (AXI, PCIe, SPI, I2C).
- Experience with embedded systems design for ARM processors.
- Verification on hardware platforms.
- Team environment; strong communication skills.
- Leadership experience (team lead, technical lead, project lead).
- MS or Ph.D. in Electrical or Computer Engineering (preferred).
- Salary range: $86,800 - $165,200.
