DTFP- Analyst

Job Description

Position will provide support to the MDA’s Test Directorate, Consolidated Flight Test Organization in support of the test planning and execution of the Space Based Interceptor program. Candidate will assist in development of pre-mission flight test design/scenarios and support flight test execution by performing the following tasks.

• Pre‑mission target and interceptor trajectory generation and optimization
• Pre‑mission quantitative safety and risk analyses to ensure tests comply with Range Commander’s Council safety standards
• Sponsoring Range Safety Working Group meetings and activities: tracking action items, data delivery schedules, and analysis schedules
• Assisting with pre‑mission telemetry link and radar assessments to ensure flight test architecture meets data collection requirements
• Assisting senior team members in conducting COLA (collision avoidance) assessments for day of flight execution

• Experience with MDA organization and Missile Defense System designs, performance and testing
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, Java, and/or other programming languages
• Basic understanding of Orbital Mechanics and Physics

• Knowledge of RF engineering and communication design and processing
• Knowledge of Range Commander’s Council Standards

BA/BS in a field pertinent to the position being filled. 5 years relevant experience may be substituted for the BA/BS degree requirement.

Minimum Secret clearance required.
