We are looking for you to join our team at Huntsville, AL as a Software Engineering Manager
2. Responsibilities include day-to-day communications, performance assessment and feedback, career counseling, professional development, employee succession planning, employee rewards and recognition, conflict resolution and resolving personnel issues for approximately 10-18 direct reports and an overall department size of approximately 45 engineers. This role will have an average of 25% management responsibilities and 75% program responsibilities. Program responsibilities include developing and implementing software/systems engineering products that best meet changing customer needs on a Space Systems Ground Weapons System (GWS) Program.

• Development and advancement of engineering practices, identification of skill gaps, college & intern recruiting, and increasing engineering competencies through strategic hiring and employee skills development.

• Develop and Perform to a Strategic Plan including multi-year sales and marketing strategic plans that identify key products and markets that will enable the company to achieve its goals of growth and profitability.
• Build and execute marketing and communications plans to support the specific opportunities.
• Regularly report to the company’s Management Team the status of all major Advanced Programs opportunities assigned, and the status toward achieving the awards plan.

• 8 years of experience with a Bachelors’ degree in Software Engineering or STEM discipline; 6 years of experience with a Masters’ degree in Software Engineering or STEM discipline or 4 years with a PHD in Software Engineering or STEM discipline.
• Active secret clearance required
• Previous experience in People and Technical Leadership roles
• Working knowledge of Staffing, Engineering Metrics and Training resources, processes, and tools
• Experience developing software in object-oriented programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or Java.
• Experience with components of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) - software design requirements, application development, integration, testing, or deployment
• Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS
• Experience with requirements decomposition and tracing to verification events
• Familiarity with Agile software development using tools like Jira, Confluence, Fisheye/Crucible, and Bitbucket
