Job DescriptionAerojet Rocketdyne is growing in Huntsville, AL and is hiring for a role that supports entry‑level engineering duties for the Mechanical Design technical staff in Solid Propulsion, Nozzle Design and Composite Design for Controllable Solids Propulsion, Solid Motor Propulsion, and Air‑Breathing Propulsion. The position may include assisting with the development of engineering designs, solid rocket motor composite case design, verification and test support, and preliminary design tool development.
The role involves using computer‑aided design software to create 3D models and perform basic engineering calculations for concepts and preliminary designs.
- Perform various entry‑level engineering duties for the Mechanical Design technical staff in Solid Propulsion, Nozzle Design and Composite Design for Controllable Solids Propulsion, Solid Motor Propulsion and/or Air‑Breathing Propulsion field.
- Support senior engineering staff and gain experience and familiarization with our programs and products.
- Assist with the development of engineering designs used on controllable solids propulsion, solid rocket motor and/or Air‑Breathing Propulsion applications.
- Engage in tasks such as solid rocket motor composite case design and development, verification and test support related to our solid rocket motor products, and preliminary design tool development.
- Utilize computer‑aided design software tools to create 3D models and perform basic engineering calculations to support concepts and preliminary designs.
- Applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or have completed their Bachelor’s degree within the last 12 months, regardless of age.
