Project Manager Civil Engineer

Southern Search is partnering with a well-established, nationally recognized engineering and infrastructure consulting firm to identify a Civil Engineering Project Manager to support continued growth across Huntsville, Alabama.

The Project Manager will play a key role in managing civil engineering projects throughout Alabama and the Gulf Coast region while serving as a trusted advisor to clients and internal project teams. This individual will lead project execution, coordinate multidisciplinary efforts, mentor junior engineers, and support ongoing business development initiatives in the region.

• Manage civil engineering projects through planning, design, permitting, and construction phases
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring successful project delivery
• Lead and coordinate project teams across multiple offices and engineering disciplines
• Oversee project scope, schedules, budgets, and overall project performance
• Prepare and review engineering plans, technical documents, and permitting packages
• Serve as Engineer of Record when applicable and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
• Coordinate closely with internal multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and construction engineering professionals
• Mentor and support the development of junior engineering staff
• Participate in proposal preparation, client engagement, and regional growth initiatives
• Contribute to a collaborative culture focused on technical excellence, innovation, and community impact

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Alabama required
• 10+ years of civil engineering experience with a focus on site development and/or municipal infrastructure projects
• Demonstrated success managing engineering projects and leading multidisciplinary teams
• Strong communication, leadership, and client relationship management skills
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Familiarity with Alabama permitting processes and regulatory requirements
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high-quality project delivery
• Interest in contributing to the continued growth of engineering operations across Huntsville, Mobile, and surrounding markets
