About the Role
Leidos’ Defense Systems, Electrical Systems Department is seeking a talented Electrical Engineering Liaison to support the Indirect Fires Protection Capability, Increment 2 (IFPC Inc.
2) program in Huntsville, AL. The ideal candidate will thrive in a learning environment that encourages leadership and technical growth.
- Coordinates with the Engineering Team to ensure designs are producible, manufacturable, and aligned with manufacturing facility capabilities and constraints
- Resolves technical issues arising during fabrication, assembly, or integration in a timely manner
- Evaluates how engineering changes affect manufacturing schedules, tooling, processes, and costs
- Participates in design reviews (PDR, CDR) to ensure manufacturability and maintainability
- Troubleshoots build issues on the shop floor, recommends rework, and escalates as needed
- Prepares/co-authors documentation (MRB dispositions, rework instructions, redline drawings)
- Interfaces with engineering, QA, supply chain, and manufacturing to ensure alignment
- Identifies and drives improvements in design for manufacturability (DFM), yield, and throughput
- Represents manufacturing during Engineering Change Control Board meetings
- Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Candidate must have 8+ years of experience in hardware system design, test, and manufacturing from architecture through implementation or 4+ years with an MS degree.
- Candidate must have experience with technical problem solving and root cause analysis.
- Candidate must be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.
- Candidate must have the ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and system block diagrams.
- Candidate must have proven understanding of fundamental circuits and circuit components.
- Candidate must have hands‑on laboratory experience with instrumentation, test equipment, and debug/test methods.
- Candidate must be a self‑starter with the ability to work independently.
- Candidates must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
- Experience with leading small to mid‑sized technical teams.
- Familiarity with IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 class 3 and IPC J‑STD‑001 Standards.
- Electrical design for military hardware or aerospace systems.
- Experience supporting electronics manufacturing.
- Experience with product lifecycle management.
