Electrical Engineer – Lockheed Martin Space
Location:
Huntsville, AL (requires onsite presence at Lockheed Martin facility; some teleworking may be allowed)
- Design automated test equipment (ATE) and electronic hardware, including signal conditioning equipment and interfaces with COTS instrumentation for system production tests, system validation, and system-level field tests.
- Collaborate with a team of engineers to develop Special Test Equipment for a variety of electronic equipment and systems, such as avionics, control systems telemetry, electro-optical and radiation detection equipment, radio and other communications equipment, analog and digital data acquisition and control systems, FPGA, real-time systems, computers, and control and test equipment.
- Read and interpret schematic diagrams and other technical documentation.
- Design wire harnesses, assist in electronics assembly development and integration, troubleshoot and isolate root causes of failure, and develop test plans & procedures traceable to product and system requirements.
- Perform hardware engineering best practices, including requirements analysis, design, testing, and integration.
- Coordinate with cross-functional development teams and internal & external customers to plan and schedule development activities.
- Work autonomously and drive items to closure.
- 3+ years of professional experience in electrical engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education.
- Significant experience in the design, development, and integration of automated test equipment, special test equipment, or similar systems.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance; US citizenship required.
- Experience with CREO and Visio.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel occasionally.
- Understanding of engineering circuit fundamentals (analog & digital) and product configuration control processes.
- Experience with wire harness design and electronics assembly development.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and external customers.
- Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines.
This position requires a government security clearance. Applicants must be US citizens and obtain a Secret clearance.
