Torch Technologies is seeking a
** Structures Engineer
** to join our team and support a critical government program office by providing technical oversight of OEM structural testing activities and ensuring the integrity, compliance, and airworthiness of advanced aerospace systems.
** As a Structures Engineer, your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:
*** Provide technical oversight and evaluation of OEM structural test plans, procedures, and schedules to ensure compliance with government requirements
* Analyze structural test data and independently assess results, preparing briefings, reports, and risk assessments for program leadership
* Collaborate with government engineers, OEMs, and cross-functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to resolve technical challenges and ensure program alignment
* Develop and review technical documentation including test evaluations, system procedures, and engineering assessments
* Support structural testing activities by witnessing static, dynamic, and fatigue tests and ensuring adherence to approved methodologies
* Engage with stakeholders and leadership through technical working groups, providing subject matter expertise and guidance on structural systems
* Identify technical risks related to airframe structures and develop mitigation strategies to support program execution and airworthiness certification
* Support program execution through planning, coordination, and Earned Value Management (EVM) responsibilities as a control account manager
** Qualifications
* ** U.S. Citizenship
* Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
* 5+ years of relevant experience in aerospace structural engineering or related field
* Ability to obtain and maintain a secret level clearance
* Experience supporting structural analysis, test evaluation, and airworthiness or certification activities
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Experience working in DoD, federal, or aerospace engineering environments
** Preferred Qualifications
*** Experience supporting DoD or Federal programs, particularly Army or aviation programs
* Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools and structural analysis methods
* Experience working with cross-functional teams, OEMs, and government stakeholders
* Strong technical documentation, briefing, and reporting experience
* Familiarity with systems engineering, airworthiness certification, and structural test methodologies
* Advanced degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related field; experience with MBSE tools (e.g., 3DX) preferred
