Senior Product Development Engineer
At Raytheon, the Electronics Subsystems Products (ESP) Department in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Senior Product Development Engineer (PDE) to support the Electrical Products design community. The PDE will act as the affordability, manufacturability, and producibility expert for all Effector Programs, working from initial bill‑of‑materials through PCB manufacturing, circuit card assembly, and subsystem integration.
Responsibilities- Respond to Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) for design input on materials selection, construction, layout, component selection and placement, design rule interpretation, and current Center of Excellence (COE) capabilities.
- Create development schedules and plans, ensuring timely participation of mechanical engineering, ECAD, parts engineering, planners, and suppliers.
- Facilitate prototype development, support the Producibility Engineering community, and participate in gate reviews.
- Assist with identifying and developing key PCB/CCA supplier partners; periodic travel to suppliers for assessments and product readiness reviews may be required.
- Support digital, analog, and RF design projects from BOM selection through PCB manufacturing and subsystem assembly, resolving all technical and supplier‑related issues.
- Follow the Integrated Product Development System to deliver affordable, producible, and highly reliable designs that meet program delivery and milestone needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Eight (8) years of prior relevant experience, including at least two of the following categories: PCB manufacturing; circuit card manufacturing/assembly; experience with IPC and MIL specifications and design guides.
- Active U.S. citizenship (required for a security clearance).
- Security clearance:
DoD Secret clearance, active and existing post day one.
- Active Secret DoD security clearance.
- Knowledge of PCB manufacturing and tooling processes.
- Experience in PCB manufacturing and/or circuit card assembly.
- Familiarity with IPC and MIL specifications and design guides.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Detailed circuit card assembly process knowledge and ability to drive component placement, selection, and material selection.
- Strong collaboration skills across disciplines to align engineering teams with program objectives.
- Salary range: $107,500 – $204,500.
