Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) is hiring an Entry-Level or Associate Level Product Review Engineer (Liaison Engineer) to join the Patriot Advanced Capability 3 (PAC-3) team located in Huntsville, AL. This engineer will perform/support troubleshooting, Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) technical analysis and provide solutions to non-conforming products. This position will work directly with cross functional and production engineering teams to meet production program objectives.
Boeing Huntsville has multi-year contracts to develop, manufacture, and test the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) missile seeker and future improvements. These contracts are driving significant, long-term growth for the PAC-3 engineering team on the Huntsville campus.
Shift: This position is for C shift.
- C Shift: F/Sa/Su; 3x12 – Starts at 6am
- Shift may be eligible for a shift differential
- Applies basic knowledge of Boeing design and/or engineering principles to develop interim or final engineering solutions to product/process issues throughout the production lifecycle
- Analyzes, conducts root cause analysis and develops dispositions for design non-conformances
- Applies engineering principles to research technical, operational and quality issues to develop interim and final engineering solutions
- Provides written dispositions for routine design non-conformances
- Participates in Material Review Boards
- Represents the engineering community in the production environment, providing lineside support
- Recommends simple non-destructive test procedures, tools, standards
- Ensures supplier and build partner compliance with Boeing standards
- Develops and implements product/process improvements
- This position may require shift flexibility, based on business needs
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed, based on business needs
- Non-standard work week options may also be utilized to meet business objectives
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
- Knowledge of repair concepts and methodologies including standard repair processes, component repair concepts, structural and composite repair procedures, and basic electrical repair procedures, and basic system repair processes
- Experience with Material Review Board / Liaison Engineering (MRB / LE) Authority (including participating in Material Review Board activities related to aircraft/component/system/circuit card repairs)
- Must be willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):
- Experience gathering data and performing a Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
- Aerospace experience, fabrications, manufacturing, and/or additive manufacturing experience
