Mechanical Design Services provides construction administration services including site observations as well as Owner, Architect and Contractor meetings during project construction.
Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role for an HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Mechanical Designer located in Huntsville, AL. The Engineer / Designer will be responsible for creating detailed designs of HVAC, fire sprinkler protection and plumbing systems, collaborating with engineers and other team members, conducting site visits, and ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and standards. Daily tasks will include heat load calculations with Carrier HAP, Revit MEP drafting and modeling (CAD alone is not sufficient), reviewing project plans, coordinating with contractors, and participating in project meetings.
Qualifications- A minimum of 1 year experience working in the HVAC, Plumbing and / or Automatic Fire Suppression construction / service technician industry with a Bachelor's degree in HVAC Mechanical Engineering or 5 years of design experience if applicant does not have a Bachelor's degree in HVAC Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficiency in HVAC Design and HVAC systems.
- Experience in Plumbing Design and plumbing systems.
- Experience in Automatic Fire Suppression systems desired.
- Knowledge in industry standards, local and national building codes and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with design team as well as the Architect, Owner and Contractor.
- Proficiency in relevant design software (Revit MEP, Carrier HAP).
