Radar Signal Processing Engineers

Leidos’ Defense Open Sensors Division is seeking a Radar Signal Processing Engineer to join a diverse team for developing advanced solutions to complex sensor and radar oriented problems.

• Research and development of advanced digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms.
• High‑fidelity radar and RF modeling, simulation, and analysis, including related tool feature development and maintenance.
• Integration and field testing of RF sensors and systems.
• CONUS/OCONUS deployment of advanced sensor systems.
• Execute various signal processing, measurement tracker processing, system performance metrics, sensor simulation, or utility tool tasks as part of larger efforts or customer goals; manage multiple tasks while maintaining compatibility with the group’s codebases.

• BS degree from an ABET‑accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering or related technical field with 2‑4 applicable years of experience, OR MS degree from an ABET‑accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
• Excellent math skills and strong fundamentals in one or more of the following: signals and systems, digital signal processing, tracking algorithms, electromagnetics.
• Ability to apply the above skills to radar modeling & simulation, antenna array theory, digital signal processing, tracking, algorithm development, or field testing of sensor systems.
• Demonstrated experience in understanding, evaluating, and implementing published scientific literature from sources such as IEEE.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, or similar scientific‑based programming tools to implement mathematics or science‑based phenomenology related to linear systems, digital signal processing, tracking, or electromagnetics.
• Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and a strong technical background.
• Eligibility to work in the United States and willingness to relocate to the Huntsville – North Alabama, AL, area (remote or work‑from‑home not acceptable).
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain or maintain a Top Secret clearance.

• Experience in high‑performance computing languages such as C++ including CUDA.
• Experience in development or operations of radar HWILs.
• Experience with ADCs, DACs, clock distribution, or embedded systems.
• Highly organized and capable of working independently in a fast‑paced, highly productive environment.
• Experience on any radar or communications related program or project.
• Ability to create design documentation, requirements specifications, and other technical documentation.
• Experience utilizing AI tools to augment technical output (e.g., to improve/automate documentation or code generation).
• Experience in radar resource management algorithms and low‑latency radar scheduling.
• MS degree in electrical engineering or related field (if not already required).
• Relevant publications in listed technology areas.
