Leidos’ Ground Based Radar Digitization (GBRD) program is seeking a highly experienced RF Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide site‑specific RF requirements and technical guidance for upgrades to radar digital/RF backend systems.
This is a large, multi‑phase radar program with concurrent development, test, production, and sustainment activities.
You will serve as the RF technical lead, ensuring RF design integrity, performance, and disciplined engineering execution across multiple sites.
Frequent travel to emplacement sites may be required.
Primary Responsibilities- Develop and document site‑specific RF requirements for upgrades to radar electronics.
- Lead technical assessments of existing RF infrastructure to ensure compatibility with new hardware and signal processing requirements.
- Define RF architecture across systems by driving low level requirements for module and LRU designs.
- Oversee integration, installation, and commissioning of upgraded RF components.
- Analyze and validate end‑to‑end RF signal chain performance, including gain, noise figure, and dynamic range, to meet system specifications.
- Review and interpret schematics, block diagrams, and interface control documents for accurate implementation.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and systems engineering teams to resolve integration challenges and ensure seamless operation between legacy and new components.
- Prepare and present technical reports, test results, and recommendations to program leadership and stakeholders.
- Track and report progress on RF related engineering tasks, ensuring milestones are met for system deployment and operational readiness.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited university.
- BS + 12 years RF engineering experience, or MS + 10 years.
- Strong technical judgment and ability to communicate complex RF issues to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Experience with formal design reviews (PDR/CDR), configuration management, and risk management.
- Deep understanding of radar systems, RF electronics, and signal processing.
- Active DoD security clearance.
- Willing to travel frequently.
- Experience with radar, EO/IR, or other advanced sensing technologies.
- Experience commissioning, maintaining, or decommissioning a radar site.
