Position: Survivability Engineer (Level III)

Description

Responsibilities
  • Applying electrical, electronics and physics theories to execute various tasks related to Survivability engineering field.
  • Ensuring that military space vehicle and missile designs, from the component level to the system level, meet performance requirements during and after exposure to specified environments, including natural space radiation.
  • Conducting technical planning, specification requirements derivation, modeling and analysis, design, test planning and execution, documentation, requirements verification/validation to support overall system needs and act as technical consultant for management and customers.
  • Joining the enterprise Survivability Engineering group and partnering with other authorities.
Basic Qualifications
  • Understanding of natural space radiation environments and design hardness, and ability to perform tasks pertinent to Survivability discipline.
  • Experience with electrical engineering simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, PSPICE).
  • Experience with test laboratory environments and associated test disciplines and equipment (e.g., data acquisition systems, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and/or signal generators).
  • Active or Current Secret clearance required to start; U.S. Citizenship with willingness to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
Desired Skills
  • Radiation software tools such as NOVICE, SRIM/Trim, Geant4, Creme
    96, MCNP, Shieldose, and others.
  • Familiarity with radiation test facilities, such as university test labs.
  • Understanding of electronic, electrical, electromechanical, and electrooptical (EEEE) components.
  • Ability to work and collaborate with peers and senior specialists within and outside the engineering group.
  • Understanding of anomaly resolution process.
  • Organized and able to effectively multi‑task in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
  • Active or Current Top Secret clearance.
Security Clearance

This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration. Top Secret clearance is required.
