Leidos’ Defense Sensors - RF Systems Portfolio is seeking a Research Scientist with software development experience to join a talented team within the RF Systems Portfolio. Candidates in this role will be a part of a diverse team of scientists, engineers, and analysts supporting advanced radar systems research and development in a high‑fidelity modeling and simulation environment.

Candidates will be expected to set up, test, analyze, and evaluate radar and weapon system performance using modeling and simulation of air defense systems.

• Support M&S configuration, testing, and data analysis activities of radar and weapon systems to determine performance capabilities.
• Demonstrate strong mathematical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills in support of analysis products and presentations.
• Work with a team to find solutions to novel, complex, and non‑traditional questions.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics, or other technical degrees from an ABET‑accredited institution plus 8‑12 years of prior relevant experience, or a Master of Science degree with 6‑10 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate degree in a relevant technical area.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze data sets and present/provide meaningful insights and statistically relevant findings.
• Demonstrated proficiency in computer programming and/or related tools (Python, MATLAB, C++, etc.).
• Must be a US citizen, possess and be able to maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance.
• Must be a resident of Huntsville, AL or willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area.

• Radar/Air Defense Systems M&S Experience.
• Master of Science in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics, or other technical degrees from an ABET‑accredited institution.
• Experience working in a Linux operating environment.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze data sets and present/provide meaningful insights and statistically relevant findings.
• 4+ years’ experience in software development and/or integration activities.
• Background in C++ development.
