Job SummaryJoin the Program Acquisition Executive Fires – SHIELD Project Office in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment supporting the Lower Tier Interceptor (LTI) Product Office. As a Hardware Engineer, you will support current programs of record, obsolescence mitigation efforts, and emerging programs by reviewing requirements documentation, qualification test plans, and participating in major engineering reviews. This role requires applying broad engineering expertise to ensure program hardware requirements are being met or exceeded throughout the entire product lifecycle.
Roles And Responsibilities- Serve as Hardware Engineer Subject Matter Expert supporting LTI Systems Engineering on LTI‑managed PATRIOT Launcher and GEM‑T Missile Programs
- Provide technical support at Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings, working groups, and Technical Interchange Meetings (TIM)
- Support major System Engineering reviews such as Systems Requirements Reviews (SRR), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), and Critical Design Reviews (CDR)
- Use engineering knowledge to ensure qualification test plans adequately test new hardware compliance with system requirements
- Review Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) and Request for Change (RFC) documentation to validate Technical Data Package (TDP) changes are accurate
- Research and develop courses of action to help government customers make informed decisions on emerging requirements and obsolescence mitigation efforts
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Systems Preferred) with 4 years of relevant experience
- Master’s Degree with 2 years of relevant experience
- PhD in lieu of relevant experience
- Experience with hardware technical data packages, missile system hardware, engineering design reviews, and hardware integration
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
- Active security clearance
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- Experience supporting U.S. Army Air Defense Launcher and Missile programs
- Knowledge of Army Systems Engineering design practices and requirements specifications processes
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills related to Hardware Design and Integration efforts
- Familiarity with reading and evaluating engineering Technical Data Packages
- Experience with Models Based Systems Engineering (Cameo, Magic Draw, etc.)
