* Description:

** Lockheed Martin Space designs and operates spacecraft, launch‑vehicle avionics, and scientific payloads that must execute precise trajectories, maintain stable attitudes, and perform autonomous maneuvers in the space environment  The Flight‑Sciences Systems Engineer is the technical bridge between flight‑dynamics theory and the hardware/software that implements it  You will develop the models, algorithms, and analysis tools that predict vehicle behavior, generate guidance commands, and certify flight‑software performance for a variety of missions  e g , orbit insertion, lunar descent, formation‑flying constellations, re‑entry

You will typically have:

-2 years of professional experience with a Bachelor's degree

- An active Secret security clearance or Higher

- Ability to work onsite in either Littleton, CO , King of Prussia, PA  Sunnyvale, CA  or Huntsville, AL

- Strong grasp of orbital mechanics, rigid‑body dynamics, and flexible‑body effects

- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, STK, and a high‑level programming language  C/C  , Python

- Experience with estimation/filter design  Kalman, EKF, UKF, particle filters

** Pay Rate:
** The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York  excluding most major metropolitan areas , Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $89,300    $157,550  For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location  Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only  Lockheed Martin considers factors such as  but not limited to  scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer
