We are recruiting highly qualified candidates for the SCA Engineering Technician IV (Service Contract Act) position in Huntsville, AL. Due to Department of Defense contract requirements, U.S. citizenship is required.
Job PurposeSCA Engineering Technician IV typically performs complex, non‑routine technical tasks under minimal supervision, focusing on testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and documenting electro‑mechanical and avionics systems faults. Work includes conducting root cause analyses on defective components and ensuring compliance with military standards (MIL‑STD).
Key Responsibilities- Perform complex technical work such as circuit card assembly repair down to the component level of resistors, capacitors, diodes, inductors and integrated circuits. Discern faults in CCA using test equipment such as multimeter, oscilloscopes, Huntron and IC programming devices.
- Execute electrical performance and environmental testing (temperature, vibration), set up test devices, and perform mechanical inspections using calibrated tools.
- Compile detailed inspection reports, maintain maintenance logs, improve technical work documents and utilize technical data to identify defects.
- Analyze maintenance difficulties to recommend improvements to training programs, inspection procedures, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with managers, engineers, quality assurance, and technicians to resolve issues.
- Ability to work unsupervised with consistent effort.
- 4–6 years or more of directly related technical experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, reading schematics, diagrams, and work instructions.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work with specialized equipment.
