Senior System Safety Engineer

What You Will Do

• Lead one or more MIL‑STD‑882E compliant system safety programs.
• Perform system safety program tasks and analyses, or the customer’s approved equivalent.
• Coordinate with customer safety representatives to obtain safety approval from the appropriate Safety Review Board authorities.
• Work across all integrated product teams and lines to eliminate hazards or provide effective controls.
• Collaborate with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal.
• Conduct system safety program, hazard or design analyses.
• Brief the program’s safety status at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process.
• Interpret system requirements, customer specifications, and military standards.
• Prepare internal and customer reports describing analyses relevant to the system safety program.
• Collaborate across multiple disciplines to understand product architecture and design.

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• Minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience in System Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent Safety Engineering.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Secret security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship (only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance).

• Experience leading multiple DoD System Safety Programs throughout the entire life cycle.
• Experience briefing at a military safety review board.
• Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and proposal development.
• Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
