As a Warehouse Aircraft Technical Inspector, you will serve as a team member responsible for assessing the serviceability and condition of various aviation components in accordance with Army Regulations, Technical Manuals, policies, and procedures. You will use your experience and knowledge to ensure condition accuracy, traceability, and asset accountability across supply chain management activities. Your position will report to the Quality Lead and be part of a multi‑team effort to support multiple customer requirements.
Responsibilities- Supervise subordinate mechanics and provide technical guidance on maintenance operations on the airframe being supported.
- Maintain repairs and modify aircraft structures, structural components and engines, including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components.
- Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to diagnose equipment malfunctions and restore equipment condition and operation.
- Interpret technical data such as blueprints and manufacturers’ manuals to solve complex problems.
- Apply comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures, sheet metal/structural modification, and non‑complex electrical systems.
- Operate aircraft‑unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable densitometers, sheet metal brakes, and sheers.
- Provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers.
- Prioritize workload to meet aircraft delivery schedules.
- Plan and conduct aircraft components technical inspections and apply fundamentals and inspection techniques of general aviation maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and analyze electrical/electronic systems.
- Provide technical guidance to repairers on maintenance techniques and safety procedures.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Six years of experience as a Lead Aviation Mechanic.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
- Continuing education assistance.
