What You Will Do
- Lead one or more MIL‑STD‑882E compliant system safety programs.
- Perform system safety program tasks and analyses, or the customer’s approved equivalent.
- Coordinate with customer safety representatives to obtain safety approval from the appropriate Safety Review Board authorities.
- Work across all integrated product teams and lines to eliminate hazards or provide effective controls.
- Collaborate with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal.
- Conduct system safety program, hazard or design analyses.
- Brief the program’s safety status at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process.
- Interpret system requirements, customer specifications, and military standards.
- Prepare internal and customer reports describing analyses relevant to the system safety program.
- Collaborate across multiple disciplines to understand product architecture and design.
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
- Minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience in System Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent Safety Engineering.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Secret security clearance.
- U.S. citizenship (only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance).
- Experience leading multiple DoD System Safety Programs throughout the entire life cycle.
- Experience briefing at a military safety review board.
- Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and proposal development.
- Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
