Electronics Engineer, Test Engineer, Systems Engineer
TSC is seeking highly‑motivated students who are pursuing a degree in Electrical, Computer, and/or Wireless Engineering for an Electrical Engineering Co‑Op position in Huntsville, Alabama
, supporting the Radar & Precision Weapons Development Operation
. These students should excel academically, exhibit a passion for their work, and maintain a positive attitude. Throughout the experience, they will apply classroom knowledge to practical work situations and develop skills that enhance future coursework.
Co‑ops commit three semesters to TSC by alternating between work and school. This schedule allows students to clarify their academic focus, test career interests, and explore professional goals.
Co‑ops should have an interest in the analysis and design of RF/microwave sensors and systems, including radars/sensors, missile seekers, and communications systems. They should also be eager to learn the theoretical background in the following areas:
- RF/Microwave Systems/Subsystems
- RF/Microwave System/Subsystem Test Equipment
- Electromagnetic Fields & Waves Theory and Analysis
- Antenna & Antenna Array Theory & Analysis
- Digital Hardware Design
- Digital/Analog Signal Processing
- Radar & Communication System/Subsystem Analysis
- Radar & Communication System Signal Processing
- Embedded Software/Firmware Development
The co‑ops’ primary role is to support the full‑time engineering staff with their tasks. They will gain hands‑on, practical experience that builds on their college coursework and enables them to take on increasing responsibilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Data analysis and identification of post‑flight or mission data processing needs
- Military defense systems field test support
- Acceptance testing of RF/microwave components
- Assisting with electronic component test procedure development
- Circuit modeling using computer‑aided design tools
- System modeling and design verification
- System integration and testing
- Statistical component failure analysis
- OrCAD schematic work
- HFSS (High Frequency Structural Simulator) use
- Low‑voltage digital hardware testing and design
- Signal analysis with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers
- Learning and applying computer‑aided design tools such as Math Cad, MATLAB, Python, AutoCAD, Orcad, and HFSS
- Enrolled in an accredited university and in good academic standing
- Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Hardware Engineering, Wireless Hardware Engineering, or a related field
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD Security Clearance
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Coursework or prior equivalent experience in basic engineering circuit analysis
- Coursework or prior equivalent experience in basic digital logic
