This is technical field inspection work which involves performing skilled tasks in the office and laboratory.
Job TitlePretreatment Specialist I
Jurisdictions and Rates- Mobile Area Water and Sewer System: $42,507 - $67,953
- Prichard Water Works and Sewer Board: $39,471 - $63,101
- Graduation from a standard senior high school, or completion of the GED.
- Minimum of one year experience in a wastewater treatment plant or laboratory, or a combination of education and experience equivalent.
- Must possess a valid driver's license from state of residence.
- Mobile Area Water and Sewer System – must obtain a Grade 1C wastewater certificate from the Alabama Department of Environmental Management within one year.
- Prichard Water Works and Sewer Board – must possess a Grade 1C wastewater certificate from the Alabama Department of Environmental Management.
Physical Requirements
- Applicants must meet established medical and physical standards for the class of work.
- Medical examination shall be performed by a physician designated by the Personnel Board; applicants bear the cost.
