Description
The Systems Engineer will serve as a key interface between the requirements, design, subsystem engineering, system engineering, and production teams.
Responsibilities- Perform systems integration, test planning, and implementation.
- Coordinate the planning, organizing, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects within the area of assigned responsibility.
- Support test activities on site.
- Perform data reviews and provide feedback to test and integration teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve build flow and test efficiencies.
- Excellent leadership skills and whole systems thinking.
- Breadth of knowledge and work experience implementing systems engineering standard methodologies and lessons learned.
- Knowledge of Systems Engineering processes and Systems Integration functions, which may include:
- a.) System trade studies and/or system modeling.
- b.) Requirements and Interface Control Document (ICD) development.
- c.) System integration, test and/or verification.
- d.) Test planning and implementation with an understanding of all interdependencies.
- e.) Design reviews.
- Validated understanding of systems thinking skills and behaviors.
- System design and test experience with one or more subsystems or fields outside of Systems Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Propulsion, RF, Software, etc.).
- Experience with operations design.
- Ability to absorb extensive technical detail and logically formulate solutions for implementation on an inflexible schedule, often requiring integration of conflicting and, at times, incomplete data.
- Demonstrated experience of good judgment and programmatic implementation vital to meet technical requirements while balancing schedules and budget obligations.
- Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and take on numerous roles as part of the daily program operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent social skills, with the ability to lead multidirectional teams, shape meaningful relationships with team members and deliver consensus among peers.
- Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker; selects and applies appropriate systems thinking skills to solve very complex problems and implement constructive change.
- Active Secret security clearance with investigation in the last 5 years.
- Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration.
