Entry Level- RF Datalink Development Engineer

Huntsville, AL (Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Alabama)

Aviation & Missile Solutions, LLC (AMS) is seeking a talented Electrical or Computer Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama. The engineer will support RF Datalink Technology programs including modeling, simulation and analysis; hardware and software prototyping; and development, integration and testing of RF datalinks.

• Support RF datalink technology programs, including modeling, simulation, analysis, hardware and software prototyping, integration and testing of RF datalinks.
• Design and simulate end‑to‑end communication systems and perform link budget analyses factoring path loss, atmospheric attenuation, fading and interference.
• Design and integrate RF hardware, selecting and integrating components such as antennas, power amplifiers, low‑noise amplifiers, filters, mixers and datalink modems.
• Develop waveforms and protocols, collaborating with firmware and embedded software developers to implement and optimize modulation schemes, error correction, and encryption.
• Conduct laboratory testing with spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators and channel simulators, and lead field testing to validate range, throughput and reliability.
• Collaborate with highly technical team of engineers and scientists and present to customers, coworkers, and management.

• Excellent math skills and strong fundamentals in electromagnetics, signals and systems, digital signal processing and controls.
• Ability to apply skills to modeling, RF communications analysis, algorithm development, RF hardware, HWIL support and/or field testing support.
• Good interpersonal skills and desire to work within a highly technical team.
• Resident of Huntsville, AL or willing to relocate.

• Experience with object‑oriented programming principles.
• Experience with MATLAB or Python.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university.
• Graduating GPA of 3.5 or higher.
• 0‑5 years of experience.

• Must be able to travel up to 10% of the year.

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

• US citizen only.
• Must possess or be eligible to obtain a Final SECRET/SSBI Clearance.
