Join us as an Electromechanical Harness Engineer where you will work closely with senior engineers to develop preliminary 3D concept models of space flight avionics Cable and Harnessing and ultimately advance them for flight use.
Location:
This position does not support teleworking
; you will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in:
Huntsville AL and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time.
Key activities you will accomplish in this role:
Provide producible designs that meet technical, cost, and schedule requirements, and work within an Integrated Product Team environment.
Prepare all applicable drawings and documentation needed for the fabrication and assembly of the hardware designed.
Coordinate with thermal, dynamic, stress, reliability, EMC, and survivability analyses to assure compliant designs. You will support manufacturing and test disciplines in minimizing cycle time and resolving problems.
Establish specifications for contract assemblers and raw-material vendors.
Interface with Parts Engineering, Quality Assurance and Purchasing regarding material quality and vendor performance.
To be effective in this role, you will need:
Experience with wire harness and interconnects design for avionics or high reliability applications.
3+ years professional experience.
While no clearance is needed to start in this position, you will need to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
, thus ship is required.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
Experience with wire harness and cables design of electrical/mechanical interconnects.

Desired skills
Experience with wire harness and cables design of electrical/mechanical interconnects for satellite spacecraft equipment and/or missile systems.
ECAD and/or MCAD modeling and drafting experience.
Schematic capture, wire list generation, voltage drop analysis
Familiarity with Space programs, flight specifications, and/or COTS electronic equipment/components
Proficiency in Zuken E3 and/or similar ECAD

Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $89,300 - $157,550. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
