We are seeking an experienced Lead Systems Engineer – Modeling & Simulation to drive the development of next-generation system-level modeling and simulation capabilities supporting a highly advanced, mission-critical program. In this role, you will lead a team of talented engineers in designing, developing, validating, and deploying sophisticated modeling and simulation frameworks that integrate high-fidelity physics-based models with physical hardware.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the architecture, design, development, and validation of an integrated system-level modeling and simulation environment.
  • Translate mission objectives, operational concepts, and stakeholder needs into well-defined system requirements.
  • Develop and maintain system architecture while ensuring complete traceability from requirements through design, implementation, and verification.
  • Define and document the system's functional, logical, and physical architectures.
  • Lead cross-functional integration efforts across systems engineering, software engineering, hardware engineering, and test organizations.
  • Ensure simulation accuracy and fidelity by validating models against system requirements and physical behavior.
  • Conduct engineering trade studies and evaluate architecture alternatives to optimize system performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Facilitate major technical reviews, including System Requirements Reviews (SRR), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), and Critical Design Reviews (CDR).
  • Partner with verification and validation teams to ensure the architecture supports comprehensive testing and long-term sustainment.
  • Communicate technical strategies, architectural decisions, and engineering recommendations to program leadership, customers, and external stakeholders.

Desired skills:

  • Master's Degree or Ph.D. in a core engineering or computer science discipline.
  • Prior work in defense, aerospace, autonomous vehicles, or heavily regulated industrial controls.

This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
