Senior RAM Engineer
Leidos Defense Systems Sector is seeking a talented Senior RAM (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability) Engineer to lead and manage other RAM engineers on programs ranging from small to large‑scale across DoD, DARPA, NASA, and commercial applications. The role involves developing reliability artifacts throughout the system life cycle—including reliability predictions, MTTR analysis, RBDs, reliability reports, FMEA/FMECA, FRACAS—and interfacing with program management and executive leadership to resolve complex, high‑impact problems.
The Senior RAM Engineer may serve as a subject‑matter expert, present reliability engineering artifacts in formal design reviews, and act as a customer liaison.
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent ABET‑accredited field.
- BS degree and 12 years of relevant experience or a master’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience.
- Experience conducting RAM analyses such as MTTR, MTBF, FMEA, RBD, power dissipation, and derating.
- Demonstrated ability to tackle complex or ambiguous technical tasks, develop structured plans, and drive to completion with minimal supervision.
- Proven proficiency in presenting complex design concepts and review materials to large audiences, including executive leadership and customer representatives.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary engineering environment.
- Professional experience deriving RAM requirements for complex electrical, electro‑mechanical, mechanical, and software systems.
- Experience supporting NASA, DoD, or DARPA programs.
- Resident of the North Alabama area or willingness to relocate to the Huntsville‑North Alabama, AL area.
- Possession of or ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
- Programming or scripting experience (e.g., VBA, Python, MATLAB, or R) to automate RAM analyses.
- Experience with Reliasoft or other reliability analysis tools (e.g., Relyence).
- Experience with LTSpice or other electronic circuit simulators.
- Experience working with SysML to develop Model‑Based Systems Engineering diagrams.
- Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) or INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP).
- Deep understanding of top‑down systems engineering processes and bottom‑up verification.
- Experience supporting Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) and Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT).
- Experience in risk management, test planning, and proposal development.
- Experience shaping and executing business development efforts.
- Thorough knowledge of DoD acquisition processes and methods.
- Master’s degree in a relevant ABET‑accredited field.
