U.S. citizenship is required. Candidates must obtain/interim DoD Secret clearance prior to the start date. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Responsibilities- Apply engineering practices and problem‑solving skills to perform mechanical design and development activities for control systems.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and internal/external customers to develop solutions for mechanical/control systems and harness/interconnects.
- Develop and evaluate design approaches, conduct analysis, and create design documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related STEM field.
- Experience with CREO or other 3‑D modeling tools.
- Hands‑on experience with one or more of: baja/formula racing, robotics, rocketry, electric vehicles (EV), RC/UAV (club team or internships/co‑ops acceptable).
- Major in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related STEM discipline.
- GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- Knowledge of mechanical or electrical design principles, including analysis and simulation.
- Understanding of manufacturing methods such as machining, casting, forging, welding, and bonding.
- Familiarity with mechanical drawing practices, dimensioning, and tolerancing.
USD 57,200 – 108,800 (located in Alabama).
