Metrology Electronics Engineering Technician Level 2 - (4066)
Location:
FMALOG - Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL 35808 US (Primary)
The Metrology Electronics Engineering Technician Level 2 will be responsible for conducting various tests or experiments which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures, performing measurements, selecting, preparing, operating standard and non-standard test equipment, and recording test data. The role also involves component level repair, troubleshooting, and supervising Level 1 Engineering Technicians. Knowledge of oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, and GPIB/serial/RS232 interfaces is required.
Whatyou’ll do all day
- Component level repair with a working knowledge of oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, and multi‑function test sets.
- Apply electrical, electronic, electromagnetic, and mechanical theory to troubleshoot and repair electronic test equipment.
- Execute soldering of surface‑mount and through‑hole components.
- Use MS Office and networking knowledge of GPIB, serial, and RS232 interfaces to automate test equipment.
- Perform assignments that are not fully standardized or prescribed.
- Conduct tests or experiments requiring minor modifications to setups or procedures and record measurement data.
- Extract, process, and present technical data from field notes, manuals, and lab reports.
- Supervise and inspect the duties and work of Level 1 Engineering Technicians.
- Are a self‑starter who requires minimal oversight.
- Enjoy a fast‑paced work environment.
- Love working with diverse groups, including engineers and technicians.
- Are good at communicating with people.
- 5 years of component‑level repair experience in a related Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) and either a 2‑year technical trade course or a 4‑year engineering technology degree.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
