The chosen candidate will join the Sentinel Systems Engineering, Integration, & Test (SEIT) Business Unit’s System Integration & Sustainment (SIS) Operating Unit and contribute to the Weapon System Integration (WSI) Electrical Design Integration (EDI) Team. This role will support as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Weapon System Electrical Design Integration Team, responsible for integrating all segment and lower‑level team designs so that fundamental electrical engineering principles are exercised appropriately throughout the design lifecycle in a consistent manner.
Candidates must be able to understand the intent of Weapon System design at the highest levels and drive engineering processes & analyses into specific product team designs to prove successful design integration and analyze potential gaps. The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate strong leadership and foundational systems engineering skills to drive process and technical gap resolution of interface and requirement design solutions to achieve program and contract objectives.
Demonstrated ability to foster diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching, is a must. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, and the ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in collaborating and leading Engineering teams.
- Develop and implement modeling solutions, conduct trade studies, and evaluate system and subsystem performance.
- Frequently collaborate with technical leadership on system requirements generation, flow‑down, subsystem design/analysis, and subsystem performance verification including lab and flight testing.
- Assist with the planning, coordination, and analysis supporting system and subsystem development, integration, test, production, and support flight test operations.
- Attend internal program, customer and/or supplier technical exchange meetings and/or formal program milestone reviews to provide and/or obtain progress status updates.
- Perform the test design process along with the design, analysis, and fabrication of specialty test equipment required for environmental testing and handling.
- Collaborate with other IPTs to define test objectives and requirements for test activities in the system integration labs.
- Perform analyses to evaluate all levels of the system to ensure a cohesive electrical‑system solution throughout the development lifecycle (concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal).
- Manage the internal & external electrical interfaces (such as data, power, RF) and develop the corresponding system‑level interconnect/block diagrams, grounding diagrams, electrical schematics, and global connectivity list for the weapon system.
- Manage hardware command and telemetry implementation (e.g., develop and coordinate calibration and conversion curves for analog telemetry in coordination with subsystem engineers, verify electrical/software implementation).
