Research Scientist
Plan, organize and coordinate all aspects of environmental programs. Develops procedures and coordinates activities to solve pollution problems. Conducts research studies to develop theories or methods of abating or controlling sources of environmental pollutants by performing the following duties.
Essential Responsibilities:
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Required:
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university with five (5) years related experience and/or training in Environmental Safety; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act (EPCRA), Tier II, and Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) preferred. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must have knowledge of Federal and State environmental regulations and of Safety and Continuous Improvement Programs. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
Compensation Details:
$50K-$60K
