Manufacturing Engineer I – A220 (Contract), Airbus US Manufacturing Facility, Mobile, AL
Job SummaryResponsible for working inside a multi‑function team to answer technical questions regarding final assembly of the A220 aircraft. Validate workbook modifications, assist with tooling, troubleshoot, configure parts, research nonconformities, and establish action plans for the Methods Department.
Primary Responsibilities- Station Support (80%) – Provide technical support to production, create rework orders, lead troubleshooting meetings, establish LDDs for RNCs with Operational Leader agreement, investigate workbook modifications, handle non‑conformities, support MES issues, verify BOIs, workbooks, and RNCs, exchange information with APT for unified teamwork, analyze status and produce reports, manage continuous improvement actions, and perform other duties as assigned.
- Projects (10%) – Support projects assigned by management, conduct independent research, develop solution concepts, support PPS actions with APT, ensure completion of project roadmaps, and perform other duties as assigned.
- Training (5%) – Ensure Poly‑Poly end‑of‑year requirements are met, complete all training outlined by HR and Management in a timely manner, and perform other duties as assigned.
- Additional Responsibilities (5%) – Evaluate multiple options, make recommendations to management, and potentially serve as project lead on various assignments or initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 6+ years of experience in aerospace, preferably on an aerospace final assembly line.
- Airframe and Powerplant certification preferred.
- Knowledge of aerospace processes and methods, common aerospace tools (SAP, Catia, Enovia), and the American aviation market.
- Familiarity with aircraft structures, systems, electrical, and/or cabin installations.
- Knowledge of aircraft design and manufacturing regulations, health, safety, and environmental regulations and practices.
- Intercultural experience and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel abroad for work and training.
- Onsite – Vision, hearing, speaking, equipment operation, carrying, lifting, pushing/pulling, sitting, squatting/kneeling, standing, walking, and use of PPE as required.
