Role SummaryThe Mission Analysis and Trajectory Design Engineer supports the development, integration, and testing of flight dynamics simulations for NASA programs including SLS/ARTEMIS and HLS, plus other smaller NASA projects. The role requires a solid background in flight dynamics modelling, programming experience, and the ability to perform high-fidelity analyses to optimize and integrate inputs for flight dynamics of Artemis missions.
Responsibilities- Analyze launch vehicle and spacecraft dynamics, equations of motion, and trajectories to assess spacecraft performance and mission analyses.
- Model ascent and in-space environments, including errors, disturbances, GN&C algorithms, sensors, actuators, and mechanisms.
- Simulate and analyze nominal, contingency, and failure scenarios during ascent and in-space flight.
- Develop algorithms and tools to analyze 3 DOF trajectories using Monte Carlo techniques.
- Perform studies and insight analyses for NASA’s HLS program.
- Execute or modify existing software/scripts in C, Python, and C++.
