Quantum Information Research Scientist – National Security Sector

Leidos offers a role in our National Security Sector's (NSS) Cyber & Analytics Business Area (CABA). As a member of this team, you will develop a variety of sensing and communications demonstration systems for the customer and will supervise and participate in R&D, program development, and collaborate with sub‑contractor partners.

• Supervise and participate in the building and testing of quantum-based communications and sensing systems.
• Collaborate with sub‑contractor partners.
• Communicate technical work orally and in writing to subject‑matter experts and non‑technical audiences.
• Present complex material to non‑technical governmental and military audiences.
• Provide regular updates to the group lead in Huntsville, AL.

• BS, MS or PhD in physics, optics, quantum information science (QIS), or a related engineering field with 2+ years of experience.
• Proficiency with physical quantum mechanical systems used in sensing or communications applications.
• Ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance.
• Regular work in or relocation to Lawton, OK.
• U.S. citizen.

• Expertise in quantum physics/QIS, theoretical or experimental.
• Experience with Python, Matlab, Mathematica, LabVIEW, C#, or optical modeling programs.
• Experience designing experimental quantum systems for sensing/communications applications.
• Experience setting up lab equipment for optical and quantum experiments.

Pay Range: $69,550.00 – $. Benefits include paid time off, holidays, 401(k) with 6% match, flexible schedules, stock purchase plan, technical up‑skilling, training support, and parental paid leave.
